He grew up on the family farm, attending Quamba schools for 8 years before finishing his High School diploma by correspondence courses. Archie worked for several different manufacturing companies over the years including Blaw Knox, Brako, Mora Industries, Anderson IBEC, and Amoco/Sheller Globe before retiring. During retirement, Archie took a part-time maintenance job at the Mora Medical Center for a number of years.
Archie’s love of sports started at a young age when he played baseball for Quamba for 15 years and 1 year for Hinckley. In his later years, watching Twins Baseball was a favorite pastime. He enjoyed hunting for deer and birds, and fishing on the local lakes. Archie was a member of the Mora American Legion Post 201, Mora Lions, Jaycees, and a 66-year member of the Calvary Lutheran Church. He also liked to garden and do woodworking projects. Traveling with family and friends included a trip to Europe, a cruise, and many trips out west including Las Vegas. Most of all, Archie cherished his family and spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. He will be dearly missed.
