ARLINE KUCHMAN

Arline Fay Kuchman, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024, at Sandstone Health Care Center in Sandstone, MN.  She was 89 years old.
 
Arline was born on March 26, 1935, in Crookston, Minnesota to parents Frank and Meta (Witt) Schwede.  She graduated from Crookston High School.  After high school, she worked as a nurse’s aide at a nursing home for several years.  In 1959, Arline was blessed with the birth of her only son David. 
 
Arline was united in marriage to James Kuchman in May of 1962 and the family made their home in the twin cities area.  Over the years, Arline worked at a peanut factory, in phone sales, and at Fingerhut.  

After retirement, Arline and James moved to Mora in 1997.  Throughout her life, Arline also enjoyed walking, whether alone or with friends.   She became a member of the Hillman Baptist church when she moved to Mora.  Always a caring and compassionate woman, she spent many hours as a visiting angel at the local nursing homes.  

Arline was a good cook, and everyone loved her cabbage rolls and fish fry.  Her favorite times were the days spent fishing on knife lake with her husband and nephew Tim.  She also enjoyed going to garage sales and on outings with her niece Helen.  She will be dearly missed.  

Arline was preceded in death by her parents; husband James; and brothers Frank and Marvin Schwede.
 
She is survived by her son David Erickson; brother-in-law Dale (Darlene) Kuchman; special niece Helen (Ron) Nestrud; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
 
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 pm on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at the Hamilton Funeral Homes- Akkerman Chapel in Mora. 

Memorial Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service.

A dinner will immediately follow the service at Freddie's restaurant.

A private Inurnment will be at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
