BETTY EVENSON

Betty Helen Evenson, of Mora, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026, at the Cambridge Medical Center.  She was 89 years old.

Betty was born on August 11, 1936, in Braham, Minnesota to parents Herman and Helen (Holmberg) Westin.

Betty was united in marriage to Vernon P. Evenson on April 19, 1958, at the Grace Lutheran church in Mora.  She did assembly work in Mora for more than 20 years. They made their home in Henriette before moving to Remer in 1991 where they enjoyed lake life.  After Vernon’s death in 2011, Betty returned to Mora to be closer to family.

Betty was active at both the Bethany Ev. Lutheran in Remer and Grace Lutheran in Mora.  She enjoyed quilting, tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, canning, and attending lutefisk dinners with her sister Mary. She was a long-time volunteer in the American Legion Auxiliary.  Betty will be dearly missed.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband Vernon; sister Bertha Erickson; and brother-in-law Barney Falls.

She is survived by her son Keven (Norma) Evenson; daughter Susan Anderson (fiancé Kevin Held); grandchildren, Dusty (Jenny), Cody, Jake (Mandy), Jamie (Jim), Cassie (Josh), Alicia, Tim (Ronnie), and Drake; great grandchildren, Sydney, Mason, Dakota, Wyatt, Carter, Parker, Cayden, Colin; sister Mary Falls; sisters-in-law, Sally Evenson and Janelle Evenson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, June 19, 2026, at the Hamilton Funeral Homes – Akkerman Chapel in Mora.

A Memorial Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. 

Inurnment will follow in the Henriette Cemetery.
