Betty Lorraine Tatro, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 16, 2026, at the Sterling Park Care Center in St. Cloud. She was 83 years old.
Betty was born on April 29, 1942, in Ogilvie, Minnesota to parents Budd and Rosina “Rose” (Kastenbauer) Averill.
Betty was united in marriage to Roy Tatro on August 7, 1964, and they were blessed with one daughter Linda. Roy passed away in 1967. Once Linda started school, Betty worked at Brighter Day in Mora for many years before retiring. She enjoyed the years she lived at Signe and Olivias, watching the deer and birds and picking up the mail. As her health deteriorated, she moved to St. Cloud to be near Linda.
Betty was strong in faith and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Mora. She loved to travel and took countless bus trips to Canada, Dollywood, and Niagara Falls to name a few. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, and trips to Dairy Queen for chicken strips and a sweet treat. She will be dearly missed.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roy, brothers John and Donald Averill.
She is survived by her daughter Linda Wolfe; grandson Chris (Sam) Frenette; several other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the Hamilton Funeral Homes – Akkerman Chapel in Mora with Pastor Cloose officiating.
Memorial Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Inurnment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Mora.
