Catherine Viva (Martin) Dorn, of Grasston, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at her home. She was 67 years old.
Cathy was born on January 31, 1958, in San Francisco, California, to Nick Martin and Bonnie (La Blanc) Greenwood. When she was seven years old, her family moved from California and eventually settled in Minnesota. While in school, she met her sweetheart, Joseph Dorn. Cathy worked as an assembly worker in manufacturing. She welcomed two beautiful children, Robert and Elizabeth, into her life. Cathy and Joe began dating in 1985 and got married in 1987. In her spare time, Cathy enjoyed fishing, camping, crocheting, solving puzzles, and reading. Most importantly, she cherished spending time with her family and grandbabies.
Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, son Robert, and brothers: Joseph “Joe”, Paul “James” and Paul La Blanc.
She is survived by her beloved husband Joe, daughter Elizabeth (Randy Stromberg) Tayman, siblings: Mary Ann, John Paul “Jude”, John Ray “Johnny”, and Paula Wallace; grandchildren: Jeremiah Long, Stephen (Ashley) Tayman and TommyLee Tayman; great grandchildren: Atreus and Aurora Tayman; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Gathering of Friends and Family was held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 26, 2025,
at the Dorn Residence at 200 Oak Street in Grasston, MN.
