Clarence “Butch” Luecken of Stanchfield, MN passed away on August 16, 2022 at the age of 79 at his home, surrounded by his loved ones.
Butch was born June 22, 1943, to John and Caroline (Brickzin) Luecken in Mahnomen, MN. Butch was one of ten children growing up on the family farm, which is where he met his beautiful wife, Virginia.
He loved being outdoors. It did not matter if he was hunting or fishing, his love of the outdoors remained the same. He enjoyed life to the fullest as a child and teenager. As a young adult he became a carpenter. He was a fabulous craftsman. Along with his wife Virginia, they built 2 houses that they called home, and a cabin in Togo for them to enjoy. They enjoyed making things for their grandchildren. He loved nothing better than visiting with his siblings or getting together with family and camping. Nothing made him smile more than a visit from the grandchildren or great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Caroline Luecken; his in-laws John and Emma Smith; his brother George Luecken; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Luecken, Sharon Luecken, and Darlene Smith; brothers-in-law, Kenny Lindholm, Dick Wefel, and Robert Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Virginia Luecken; his sons, Mark (Sandy) Luecken and Cory Luecken; grandchildren, Hailey (Seth) Coy and Chase Luecken; great grandchildren, Praxton, Kohen, and Genevieve Coy; brothers, Ronald (Gloria) Luecken, Sonny (Glorie) Luecken, Jack (Donna) Luecken, Richard (Jody) Luecken; sisters, Florence Wefel, Susie (Ron Plante) Lindholm, Millie (Bill) Anderson, Janice (Rusty) Wagner; sister-in law Judy (Alvin) Cin; special care giver Alyssa Peterson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of life will be held from 11am – 2pm on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at the Braham Moose Lodge (2353 103rd Ave Braham, MN 55006)
