DAWN THARP

Dawn Louise Tharp, of Mora, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at Welia Health in Mora.  She was 55 years old.

Dawn was born the youngest child of Jack and Rita (Walling) Tharp on May 24, 1970, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Dawn developed a strong work ethic growing up on the family farm which followed her in all she did.  She had a passion for horses and loved showing her draft horses at the county fair in teams, pulling, and hitching. Dawn was a caregiver at heart whether it was the gentle care of her animals or the love and compassion she had in helping her parents.  She will be remembered for her sense of humor and making those around her laugh through jokes and smiles.  She will be deeply missed.

Dawn was preceded in death by her father Jack, brother Timothy, and uncles and aunt, Doug Walling, Dave Kunes, Wallace Tharp, and Donna Hirsch.

She is survived by her mother Rita; siblings, Mike (Nancy) Tharp and Tammy (Bill) Pool; nephews, Josh (Brittany) and Sean (Sosha); great nephew and nieces, Miles, Madelyn, Savannah, and Maylie; aunts and uncles, Gloria Walling, Judy Kunes, Wendy (Jack) Ruppelt, Joyce Tharp, and Charles Hirsch; as well as many other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Dawn’s Life and Benefit will be held from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Kev's Depot in Mora.  There will be a spaghetti dinner and silent auction.

Memorials are preferred to her mother Rita, to cover medical expenses.
