DELMER SCOTT

Delmer Leroy Scott, of Isle, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.  He was 83 years old.

Delmer was born on April 14, 1943, in Isle, Minnesota to parents Wilmer and Elsie (Witt) Scott. He grew up on the family farm near Isle and attended school in Isle, graduating in 1961.  Delmer learned to drive truck at the age of 16 and spent years hauling all kinds of things across the United States. He also worked as a welder at Areo Tank in Cambridge for 14 years before retiring.

His love for farming and land stewardship was learned at a young age and followed him until his final days. He had a passion for all things western which started with his first horse “Silver”.  You rarely saw Delmer without his signature leather hat, vest, and cowboy boots on.  As an avid deer hunter, Delmer enjoyed the quiet hours waiting for the deer to appear and claiming the bragging rights for getting the biggest buck.

Delmer was united in marriage to Rose Berry in Isle in 1979.  They enjoyed a beautiful life together which included traveling and many trips to Duluth before her death in May of 2013. Delmer will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Delmer is preceded in death by his parents, wife Rose, sister Wilma Berry, and brother Donald Scott.

He is survived by his daughter Shannon (Tom) LaMarre; grandchildren, Sophia and Ava; stepdaughter Sheila (Tim) Degner; sisters, Hazel (Wes) Mohn, Ruth Fladebo, and Judy Streed; special niece Lisa Rudquist; many beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the Hamilton Funeral Homes- Akkerman Chapel in Mora. 

Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow at the Sunset Cemetery in Isle.
