DENNIS CARDA

Dennis Lee Carda, formerly of Mora, passed away at St. Cloud Hospital on January 7, 2024. He was 77.

Dennis was born July 19, 1946 in Mora to Emil and Florence Mae (Sowder) Carda. He met the absolute love of his life, Gloria Eggen, and the two married November 23, 1968. They made their home in rural Brook Park and their daughter Candy was born to complete their family.

Dennis worked at Fingerhut in Mora for over 30 years serving in many different positions.

Dennis and Gloria were steadfast life partners and spent many happy years together. They loved to play cards, travel, go snowmobiling, go on four-wheeler trips, and dance a good polka. Dennis could not turn down a good polka dance.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 46 years Gloria.

He is survived by his daughter Candy; grandchildren Laura and Wes; brother Gerald (Shirley); son-in-law Neil; nephew Luke (Penny); and nieces Cindy (Dan), Katie, and Alicyn.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, January 15, 2024, at Hamilton Funeral Homes – Akkerman Chapel in Mora.

A Memorial Visitation will be held 1 hour prior.

Military Honors will follow, provided by the Mora American Legion Post 201. 

A Private Family Inurnment will be held in the summer at Oakwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Minnesota & North Dakota chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
