DONALD OVERSON

Donald Edward Overson, 92, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN. Born in Donnelly, MN, to Rubin and Gladys (Moser) Overson, Don lived a life defined by hard work, craftsmanship, and an unwavering devotion to his family.

Don dedicated 40 years to his career at Honeywell while raising his family in Mounds View, where they resided for three decades. Upon retirement, he and his wife of 71 years, Marlys, moved to Knife Lake near Mora, MN. There, they spent 30 wonderful years appreciating the lake and family and friends’ visits. They were active members of the Grace Lutheran Church community.

An avid outdoorsman and talented woodworker, Don was happiest when he was either in a fishing boat or tucked away in his garage shop meticulously building fretwork clocks for family members. Above all, his family was his greatest pride.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, sister Diane Overson and brother Leo Overson.

He is survived by his wife Marlys; children, Glen (Pam), Susan (Anthony) Peloquin, Dale, Joel (Tracy); grandchildren, Erik (Yvonne), Lance (Megan), Kristel (Nick), Kyla (Aaron), Jacob (Sarah), Aaron (Lisa), Amanda (Curt); 21 great grandchildren; sisters, Elaine Storck and Dorothy “Doddie” (Ronald) Williams; brother-in-law Edward (Terry) DeVries; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Grace Lutheran Church.

Memorial Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the church.

A Luncheon and time of fellowship will immediately follow the service at the church.
