Edna Marie Monson, of Braham, passed away on Easter morning, Sunday, April 5, 2026, at Rusheba Station in Rush City. She was 95 years old.
Edna was born on March 1, 1931, in Lyman County, South Dakota, to parents Albert and Marie (Hoffer) Traxel. She grew up on the family farm south of Reliance, South Dakota. Edna was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Chamberlain, South Dakota.
On June 11, 1952, Edna married Leo Wolf. They lived in Chamberlain, South Dakota until Leo passed away from Polio on September 13, 1954.
Edna worked as a waitress for many years. She moved to a farm near Brook Park, Minnesota in 1967 with her parents.
Edna married Robert Monson on September 4, 1993, and they made their home on her farm until 2000. They then moved to Braham, Minnesota where Edna enjoyed tending to the garden and flowers. After Bob’s passing in March of 2026, Edna moved to Rusheba Station in Rush City where she was surrounded by love in her final weeks.
She was a member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Braham. Edna enjoyed traveling, knitting, and quilting with her mother. She will be missed.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, and three infant brothers.
She is survived by special friends, Lucas McMonagle and Bob and Alexis Hochstatter and their family, many other relatives and friends.
A Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, April 13, 2026, at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Braham.
Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Pie and Ice cream will be served immediately following the service at the church.
Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Mora.
