ELAINE OCCHINO Obituary

Elaine Ann Occhino, of Cambridge, formerly of Minneapolis and Braham, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at the LeVande by Vive in Cambridge. She was 96 years old.

Elaine was born on September 13, 1929, in St. Paul, Minnesota to parents Raymond and Arline (Nyquist) Pomorski. Elaine worked as a waitress in her younger years when she met Glen Danger.  They were united in marriage on June 26, 1945, in St. Paul.  Elaine and Glen made their home on the Danger family farm near Braham where they raised their three children.  Elaine and Glen enjoyed traveling with their camper over the years.  Elaine worked for East Central Electric for over 30 years before retiring.

After Glen’s death in 1984, Elaine moved to Cambridge and later to Minneapolis where she met Joseph A. Occhino.  The couple were married and Elaine welcomed his two daughters into the family.   Elaine and Joseph enjoyed traveling and were always busy with friends and volunteer work.  Elaine was an active member at St. Peter’s Catholic church and helped in many ways.  After Joseph’s death in 2011, Elaine eventually moved back to Cambridge to be closer to her family.  She loved the caring staff and friends she made while living at Walker LeVande.  She will be dearly missed by all.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Glen Danger and Joseph Occhino; son Thomas (Sandy) Danger; son-in-law Gus Gislason.

She is survived by her children, Anita Gislason, Kevin (Tami) Danger, Susan (Dave) Jones, and Nancy (Andy) Roscoe; grandchildren, Stacy, Elly, Bobbi Jo; Matthew, Michael, Tony, Katie, Grace, and Anne Marie; 6 great grandchildren; as well as several other relatives and friends.
