FAITH YNGSDAHL

Faith Marie Yngsdahl, of Mora, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the St. Clare Living Community in Mora.  She was 84 years old.

Faith Marie was born on December 19, 1940, in Brainerd, Minnesota to parents Paul and Irene (Imm) Davis. 

Faith was united in marriage to Douglas Doughtery, and the couple was blessed with 2 children, Shawn and Tamara.  They later divorced.

Faith had a lifelong passion for music.  It was through music, she met the love of her life Darrell Yngsdahl, and they were married in 1983.  Faith’s love for the piano began at age 9 with lessons and in the later years refurbishing old pianos.  In the 80’s, Faith along with her husband Darrell, performed as the musical duo “Hook and Birdie” and recorded a number of original songs over the next 20 years.

Faith loved the outdoors, especially gardening and harvesting her own food, hunting, and fishing.  She collected unique pieces of driftwood that she would then craft into intricate works of art.  She loved the simple peace she found in nature, music, family, and her faith.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family would like to extend a big thank you to the staff at St. Clare and St. Croix Hospice for their compassion and care of Faith over the years.

Faith was preceded in death by her parents; husband Darrell; siblings, David Imm, Harold Imm, Julian Imm, and Sherrilee Anderson.

She is survived by her son Shawn; daughter Tamara; step-daughters, Jennie (Michele), Ann, and Kay (Tom); grandchildren & step-grandchildren, Ryan, Patricia, Tabitha, Shane, Kyla, and Addison;  several great grandchildren; siblings, Starr (Akiko Maekawa) and Mei-Le Dawn Geary; many other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Kingdom Hall in Mora.
