It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother and grandmother, Florence Ruth Nordenstrom. Born July 20, 1926, in Maple Ridge Township to William and Grace (Else) Ford she left this world peacefully on July 6, 2022. Florence was nearly 96 years old at the time of her passing.
A sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Florence exemplified poise and grace at every step in life. Caring for others was simply what she did. Whether it was spending time with family and friends, or volunteering her time later in life, she was a source of comfort and love for so many. For much of her life Florence was active member of Brookdale Covenant Church and gave greatly of her time to the heart and stroke center at North Memorial. Often referred to as the “neighborhood mom” she brought people together and made a lasting impact on everyone she met. Florence was a stunning example of strength with humility, wisdom with patience, and compassion with empathy. It is hard to overstate the influence that she had on this world or the generations of family and friends that she touched. She was loved by so many and taught us all how to be better people.
She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon; brothers, Henry and Arthur; sisters, Lillian, Dorothy, and Irene.
Florence is survived by her 4 children, 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren many other relatives and friends.
A private family Graveside Service and Inurnment was held at the North Maple Ridge Cemetery near Braham.
