Gary Roger Linders, age 81, of Stanchfield, MN and formerly of Clarks Mills, WI, passed away on January 19, 2025, at Rosewood Senior Living in Cambridge MN.
Born on March 21, 1943, in St. Paul, MN, Gary was the son of Lester and Anne (Schrader) Linders. He grew up in Stanchfield and was the second of four siblings. Gary graduated from Braham High School and went on to receive his teaching degree from the University of Wisconsin Stout.
Gary and Rita (Carlson) Linders were united in marriage June 12, 1965, at Braham Lutheran Church. Together they made their home in Clarks Mills, WI and raised their son, Jeff. Gary was in the field of education for his entire career, in Manitowoc Wisconsin. In the early years he taught Industrial Arts and later transitioned into Computers and Technology Education.
Throughout Gary’s life he enjoyed training dogs for field trials, duck hunting, wood working, ski trips and spending time with family and friends. In retirement Gary and Rita enjoyed traveling to new locations, along with their annual trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Most of all, Gary enjoyed being at the cabin on Lake Vermilion and sharing his love of the lake with family and friends. Gary liked to fish and if you asked him, he was not great at it, but we always managed to have a fish fry. Swedish pancakes were his cabin breakfast specialty too.
Preceded in death by his parents, father and mother in-law, brother Donny and many beloved black labs.
Gary is survived by his devoted wife Rita of Stanchfield, MN; son, Jeff (Elizabeth) of Champlin, MN; siblings, Dennis (Sharon) Linders of Aitkin, MN, and Karen (Carl) Gramentz of Minnetonka, MN; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Beverly Carlson of Braham; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends..
The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Rosewood Senior Living and St. Croix Hospice; who took exceptional care of him the past 9 months. They not only took care of Gary, but our family as well.
A Celebration of Gary's Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at the Braham Event Center.
A Memorial Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service.
A Luncheon will follow the service.
