Geraldine L. "Gerry" (Jensen) Engberg, of Braham, passed away with family at her side on Friday, January 19, 2024 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. She was 67 years old.
Gerry was born on January 23, 1956 in Minneapolis, MN to Edward and Eva Irene (Odell) Jensen. She spent her early years growing up off of Mississippi Street in Fridley, MN, until moving up to the farm in Braham, MN in 1964. Gerry attended Braham high school where she was in the band, graduating in 1974. Gerry married her high school sweetheart, Kim Engberg, on June 29, 1974 and they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this coming June. On December 26, 1980 they were blessed with their daughter, Angie. Gerry was a hard worker throughout her life. She worked various jobs and was also a dedicated homemaker.
Gerry loved living at their home in the country. She definitely had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening with Kim and they loved sharing their plentiful crops with others and planting flowers and watch them grow. Gerry enjoyed watching all the wildlife and birds that would come and go in the yard. She enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors with family and friends.
Gerry had the biggest heart and was such an amazing caregiver. She was an amazing cook and baker. Holiday dinners were one of her favorites. Most of all she loved being a grandma. She was the best Grandma and thoroughly enjoyed every moment she spent with her boy, Nicholas and her girl, Alexis. They were her pride and joy. She enjoyed all the time she had with them, along with spoiling them with her delicious homemade treats and numerous activities she did with them. She will be dearly missed.
Gerry was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Eva Irene (Odell) Jensen, sister Mary Kay Voss; brothers, Thomas, Brian, and Craig Jensen; father and mother-in-law, Harold and Betty Engberg.
Gerry is survived by her husband Kim; daughter Angie (Tony) Lucht; grandchildren, Nicholas and Alexis Lucht; sister Kathy (Wesley) Baldock; brother Lane Jensen: sister-in-law Connie Jensen; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob (Debbie) Engberg, Cindy (Dan) Blatz, Jackie (Rob) Ford, and Harold "Jr" (Tina) Engberg; special family friends Bruce Johnson and Kris Howell; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
