GLORIA TRUE

Gloria Ann True, of Thief River Falls, formerly of Mora and Ogilvie, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at the Thief River Falls Care Center.  She was 76 years old.

Gloria was born on January 11, 1949, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to Rueben and Maxine (Shea) Deelstra. She was the second of three children and grew up on a farm in Ogilvie, where she attended school through the 11th grade.

Through a blind date, she met the love of her life, Lloyd Melvin True. This serendipitous meeting blossomed, and on September 23, 1967, they exchanged vows. They settled in the town of Mora where their family grew with the arrival of three children.

Gloria dedicated 27 and a half years of her career to Fingerhut before transitioning to OlymPak, for eight years.  She enjoyed a fulfilling career and retired in 2015.

Gloria found beauty in life's simple moments, cherishing every moment spent with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives, and friends. Her passion for bowling and the joy of traveling with her bowling-league friends and sisters-in-law brought her happiness. Her spirit will live on in our hearts.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd, sister Patricia Deelstra, father and mother-in-law Denton (Mary Jane) True, and brother-in-law Kenneth True.

She is survived by her children, Dennis Lee, Cindy Kay, and Keith Roger; grandchildren, Jessica, Dusti, Shyanne, Dakotah, David (Sarah), Nicholas (Erica) Brandon, Kristi (Rob), and Thomas (Michaela); 12 great grandchildren, Delvekio, Teyah, Tyra, Devan, Liam, Finnick, Kamaria, Onyx, Drakeson, Kaynnan, Beatrice, and Stetson; brother Richard (Cindy); several brothers & sisters-in-law and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 2, 2025 at the Hamilton Funeral Homes - Akkerman Chapel in Mora with Pastor Bob DeYoung officiating.

Memorial Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Inurnment will be in the Graceland Cemetery in Ogilvie.

A luncheon will follow at the Ogilvie Civic Center.
