HARLEENE STOFFEL Obituary

Harleene "Jody" Stoffel, of Mora, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at her home.  She was 83 years old.

Harleene, lovingly known as Jody, was born on September 30, 1940, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to parents Donald and Judith (Hallbeck) Bellamy.

Inside and out, Jody was a stunningly beautiful woman. Both Jesus and humans were important to her. She generously donated her time, money, and possessions. Every moment of her life was an expression of her desire to love others as Jesus loved her. She claimed she never met a stranger since everyone she met became a friend, and she was a mentor to countless people. Life did not come easy for her but through her determination and resilience, and the protection of Jesus, she overcame every obstacle that came her way.

She owned her own business in Stanchfield where she won a guitar playing pull tabs and started “putzing” around, teaching herself to play. She started singing with other women at praise and worship services and became a member of Nancy Hollenkamp’s local ministry, Women Aglow.

Jody was treasurer of the Cameo Club, and its chaplain, having obtained licensure from the Midwest Chaplains Association. She started her own “small” ministry trying to provide help to local women and children who need it. She, and friends, also do a lot of singing and entertaining in nursing homes and for other groups. She attended the Open Arms Church of God in Braham.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son James Nelson, and brother Rochell Bellamy.

She is survived by her husband Drew; 3 children, Richard Nelson, Scott Nelson, & Roxann Nelson of WV; 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

No Services will be held at this time.
