Harold “Harry” Norbert Janousek, of Mora, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the St. Clare Living Community in Mora. He was 88 years old.
Harry was born on June 6, 1938, in Chaska, Minnesota to parents Joseph and Mary (Derhaag) Janousek. As a child, Harry helped on the family farm and enjoyed playing baseball. He enjoyed inventing things and was always very creative.
On June 7, 1958, he married Eileen (Barnhart) Janousek. They lived near Mora for over 60 years, raising six children. They enjoyed dancing, listening to music, snowmobiling, and playing cards with friends.
Harry owned an auto body shop for many years. He was a machinist, heavy equipment operator, logger, truck driver, construction worker, and loved wheeling and dealing. He was the hardest worker we have ever known.
Harry loved the outdoors. As a younger man, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, riding motorcycle and dirt track racing. In later years, he and Eileen enjoyed their flower gardens and watching wildlife. Their absolute favorite thing to do was spend time with their family.
Harry is preceded in death by his parents, wife Eileen, infant daughter Virginia, son Jerome, siblings, Joe, John, Martin, and Marge “Toots”.
