HELEN MAE FLADEBO

Helen Mae Fladebo, of Mora, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.  She was 88 years old

Helen was born on May 20, 1937, in Isle, Minnesota to parents Henry and Belvina “Belle” (Eye) Swenson.  She attended and graduated from Isle High School in 1955.

Helen was united in marriage to Loren Fladebo in 1955 and was blessed with 3 sons, Jeff, Jay, and Mark.

Helen started her postal career in 1970 at the Isle Post Office but after moving to Mora in 1971, transferred to the Mora Post Office until 1992.  She was then the postmaster in North Branch from 1992 to 1999 before finishing her career as postmaster in Stanchfield, retiring in 2010. 

Helen loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and supported them in all their activities. She enjoyed flower gardening and doing yard work.  She loved being out and about and traveling, especially winters spent in Texas with Jay and Becky.  Her favorite pastime was playing cards, margarita happy hours, and spending time with family and friends.  She will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Loren, son Mark, siblings, Merle, Alice, John, Norman, Severt, and 2 infant Sundeen siblings.

She is survived by her children, Jeff (Michelle) and Jay (Becky); daughter-in-law Laurie; grandchildren, Mandee (Daimen), Levi (Angela), Sara (Adam), Jennie (Jake), Kelly (Justin), Jessica, Jared (Tori), and Tyler (Grace); great grandchildren, Aurelia, Lucia, Jake, Benjamin, Haley, Bryce, Lucas, Harrison, Evelyn, and Carson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 20, 2025, at the Hamilton Funeral Homes-Akkerman Chapel in Mora.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 2:00- 4:00 pm on Sunday, October 19, 2024 and again1 hour prior to the service all at the funeral home.

A luncheon will follow at the Mora Masonic Lodge.

Inurnment will be in the Sunset Cemetery in Isle.
