IVAN JOHN VAN'T HOF

Ivan Van’t Hof, of Ogilvie, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN.  He was 67 years old.

A GATHERING OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral Home in Mora.

Ivan John Van’t Hof, of Ogilvie, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at the North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN. He was 67 years old.

Ivan was born on May 18, 1955 in Luverne, Minnesota to parents Cornelius and Frances (Ahlers) Van’t Hof. In 1969, the family moved to the Bock area and Ivan attended Milaca High School, graduating in 1974. He enlisted in the Minnesota National Guard and served until his discharge in 1995. In his younger years, Ivan worked as a farm hand for a number of local farmers.

In 1979, Ivan was united in marriage to Lillian Dahl at their home west of Ogilvie and they were blessed with two children. The couple later separated, but remained close companions until Ivan’s passing. In the late 90’s, Ivan began a career as an over the road truck driver. He worked for a number of different transport companies before becoming his own owner/operator in 2012. He retired from trucking in 2018.

Ivan loved spending time outdoors whether it was meticulously mowing the grass on his favorite John Deere lawn mower, clearing the driveways of his neighbors with his snow-blower, or using his woodworking skills to help someone build a deck. He also enjoyed fishing, especially during the winter months, even if the fish didn’t want to bite. Ivan enjoyed a simple life, but will be deeply missed by his family, neighbors, and friends whose lives he impacted so greatly.

Ivan was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Charlie, Alvin, Kenneth, and Norman.

He is survived by his children, Sheila Copeland (Jeffrey) and Kelly Van’t Hof (Amber Reynolds); Sheila and Kelly’s mother Lillian Van’t Hof; grandchildren, Asjah, Jasper, and Camyron; siblings, Carol (Steven) Voss, Calvin, Rodney (Brenda), Rosella (Shell) Pieper, and Ronald; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
