Jack L. Doughty Jr, of Mora, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. He was 66 years old.
Jack LeRoy Jr. was born on July 18, 1956 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to parents Jack Sr and Alice (McCabe) Doughty. He grew up in Minneapolis, attending Henry High School. As a young man he worked for the Soo line Railroad in the railyard, drove a taxi, and made precision airplane parts for Diversico for a few years. A production position began Jack’s 35-year career at Interplastic before retiring as foreman in 2018.
On July 25, 1974, Jack was united in marriage to Mary Jakowski in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They made their home in Coon Rapids where they raised their family. In 1997, they moved to a farm on Ann Lake near Mora. Here Jack enjoyed fishing, raising horses, gardening, 4-wheeling and being outdoors. He served as a board member for the Kanabec County BPOU for several years. He faithfully attended the Open Arms Church of God in Grasston and then most recently Living Hope Church in Mora. But his favorite pastime was working in his woodshop, creating beautiful pieces of furniture for his family and friends. Jack will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Debbie and Patty.
Jack is survived by his wife Mary; children, Ken Jakowski, Tina (Dwayne) Akers, Tanya (David) Peterson, and Jesse (Angela) Doughty; grandchildren, Kenny, Cody, Jesse, Dustin, Jesse, Meckenzie, Preston, Natalie, Victoria, Lillian, and Levi; sister Nancy (David) Tremewan; many other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Jack's Life will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the Living Hope Church in Mora with arrival between 10 - 10:30 am. A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow.
