JAMES KUCHMAN

James Kuchman, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Serenity Court in Sandstone.  He was 89 years old.

James was born on January 23, 1934 in Polk County, Wisconsin to parents Andrew Sr. and Irene (Gerhardt) Kuchman.  He enlisted in the United States Army on December 2, 1953.  After serving overseas he was discharged on November 16, 1956.

James was united in marriage to Arline Schwede in May of 1962. 

He loved the outdoors, especially deer hunting, fishing on Knife Lake, and tending to his gardens.  James was a longtime member of the Mora American Legion.  He had a wonderful sense of humor and wit and loved visiting with friends and family.  He will be missed.

James was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Helen, Irene, Florence, Dolores, Mary, Peter and Andrew Jr.

He is survived by his wife Arline; stepson David Erickson; brother Dale Kuchman; many other relatives and friends.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 pm on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at the Hamilton Funeral Homes - Akkerman Chapel in Mora.

Inurnment and Military Honors will be at 12:45 pm on Wednesday, August 30, 2023  Assembly Area # 6 at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
