JANE BACKLUND

Jane Jennette Backlund, of Bloomington, formerly of Braham, passed away on March 4, 2026, at her home.  She was 89 years old.

Jane was born on May 7, 1936, in Grass Lake Township, Minnesota to parents Matt and Amy (Falk) Mattson.  She was united in marriage to Gerald Backlund and blessed with one daughter Jeralyn.

Jane worked for Norwest Bank for many years.  She was a wonderful baker, making and decorating countless wedding and birthday cakes. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Jeralyn Moore, sister Verna Schwartz, brothers, Glenn, Edward, Erland, Charles, Dean, Ron, Roger, Roy, and Leslie Mattson.

Jane is survived by her husband Gerald “Jerry”; son-in-law Jerry Moore; 2 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Graveside Service and Inurnment will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Rice Lake Cemetery in Braham.

A luncheon and time of fellowship will immediately follow at the Braham Moose Lodge.
