Jane Ann Delia Lindquist, age 68, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at the Nord house in Mora, MN.
Jane was born in Braham, MN on March 12, 1956, the daughter of Thomas and Margaret (Peterson) Lindquist. She was born with challenges the doctor told her parents to take her home and love her and that is just what they did. Jane was at home with her family in Ogilvie until she moved to the Brighter Day group home in Mora. She started special education classes in Brunswick a few years. She then went to Ogilvie where she loved school and her teachers. Jane graduated in 1977. Times were changing, which gave Jane new and exciting opportunities to grow. A Sunday School class for individuals with challenges was started at Stanchfield Baptist Church and had a wonderful Sunday School teacher Mildred Olson. After graduation Jane worked at Industries Inc in Mora until she retired because she was unable to continue to clean at the casino due to her failing eyesight.
She had many friends and loved spending time with them. Anything with music really got her excited. Even after Alzheimer's had developed, she continued to enjoy music. Jane loved to bowl and was in a bowling league every week, taking part in the Special Olympics when she had the opportunity.
Jane was a hugger and had a big smile when she gave the hugs. She will be missed by Sue and Don as well as her extended family at Nord house. She loved living there; it was her home.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents and special cousin Beth Peterson.
She is survived by her sister Sue (Don) Malafa of Coon Rapids, Aunt Lois Peterson of Loveland, Colorado; many loving cousins, and the staff of RSI Nord House.
