Janice Elaine (Mattson) Arnold died on Friday September 19, 2025, at VitaCare Living of Ogilvie, MN. She was 74 years old.
She was born on December 4, 1950, at the Mora Hospital, Mora, MN. Janice grew up in Brunswick, MN with her parents Elmer and Myrtle (Oquist) Mattson, three brothers and three sisters. Janice was the youngest of all the children. She attended and graduated from the Braham School system.
Janice worked a variety of jobs over the years including at the egg factory, as a waitress/server, and as a welder. She was most proud of her career at Grand Casino Hinckley where she worked for 19 years.
She was blessed with two children, Janet and Michael, as well as four grandchildren. She was a wonderful grandmother to Matthew, Charlie, Kailey, and Amelia. She was very proud of Kailey and Amelia and was very active and involved and present throughout their entire childhood. They were a source of great pride for her.
Janice had a variety of interests including going to Wisconsin to “play cards for the weekend”, camping and fishing trips, going on sight-seeing bus tour adventures, attending music concerts and always spending time with friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Dwayne Mattson, Darrold Mattson, Shirley Brandt, Violet Heald, and Lorna Salmonson, aunts, uncles, cousins and many other family members and friends.
Janice is survived by her daughter Janet Wilkinson; son Michael (Laurie) Arnold; grandchildren, Matthew Wilkinson, Charlie Wilkinson, Kailey Arnold and Amelia Arnold; brother Loren (Janice) Mattson; brother-in-law Gary Salmonson, sisters-in-law Karen Mattson and Sharon Mattson; and many nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
In keeping with Janice's wishes, no public services will be held.
A private inurnment will be held at a later date in the Rice Lake Cemetery in Braham.
