Jessica Jo (Reichel) Vorel passed away unexpectantly on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at her home in Park Rapids. She was 36 years old.
Jessica was born on March 11, 1989, to Duane Reichel and Shareen Biggins in Cambridge. After graduating from Cambridge High School in 2007, she embarked on a journey to pursue a degree, but unforeseen health challenges led her to rethink her aspirations.
In March 2010, Jessica was blessed with the birth of her daughter, Riley, who brought immense joy and love into her life. The bond they shared was incredibly special, filling their days with laughter and adventure. Although Riley was the center of Jessica's world, she also found love with Ryan Vorel, whom she married on June 12, 2021, in a heartfelt and intimate ceremony at her father's home in Park Rapids. The couple chose to build their lives together in this community. Despite her chronic health challenges, which made life more difficult at times, Jessica's home radiated warmth and laughter. Her husband, Ryan, became her personal care assistant, and a special blanket was purchased for Jessica to keep her comfortable.
Birthdays meant a great deal to Jessica, particularly because she shared hers with her cousins, Chris and Austin. This unique connection made for celebrations to be more meaningful.
As a devoted mother to her beloved daughter, whom she affectionately called RiRi, Jessica poured her heart into nurturing and supporting Riley. She cherished moments spent with family and friends, finding joy in walks, fishing, and creating lasting memories. Her warm smile and passion for the outdoors reflected her spirit, especially during cozy evenings by the bonfire.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lloyd (Lorraine) Reichel and Edsel (Deloris) Biggins; stepmother, Kim Reichel; uncles, Loren Reichel and Steve Biggins; and aunt, Beth Reichel.
Jess is survived by her beloved husband, Ryan; her cherished daughter, Riley Kram; parents: Duane Reichel and Shareen (Tom Erickson) Biggins; mother-in-law Cindy (Guy) Senley; Father-in-law Jeff (Margaret) Vorel; brothers, Brandon (Cindy) Reichel and Joshua Reichel; brother-in-law Matthew (Allison Smith) Vorel; sister-in-law Rhonda (Kyle) Lewis; aunts & uncles: Linda (Shannon) Stepp, Lois (Herman) Oestreich, Danny Reichel, Sheila (Dale Forslin) Biggins, Stoney Biggins, and Debby Biggins, along with many other relatives and friends.
Jessica's resilience reminds us to cherish the moments that fill our hearts with love, helping us to find joy even in challenging times.
A Gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2025,
at the Grandy Community Center and Pavilion from 12 (noon) – 3 PM.
This event will also honor Jessica’s stepmother, Kimberly Reichel, who passed away in April 2025.
