Joann “Jo” Goldsmith, age 91, of Mora passed away on April 10, 2026. Despite a challenging journey with dementia, she will be remembered as a stylish hostess who enjoyed entertaining family and friends with elegance, and for being a special aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
Joann was born on February 26, 1935, in Kanabec County, Minnesota. During World War II, her family lived in Duluth. Otherwise, she resided in Kanabec County and attended Quamba Grade School and Mora High School, graduating in 1953. Joann and Ronald Goldsmith were married on June 12, 1954, in Mora. They lived in Mora, Duluth, and Schroeder, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald; parents, Marvin and Marion (Holten) Munter; sister Mavis; brothers, Marlin (Donna) and Larry "Arlan"; sister in-law Janice Munter; brother-in-law Glen Erickson; sister-in-law Shirley Nelson; brothers-in-law, Bob (Marilyn) Goldsmith, Tom (Evelyn) Goldsmith, and Jim Goldsmith.
She is survived by her brother Richard (Dick} Munter, sister Loraine "Arlys" Erickson, sister-in-law Linda Munter, sister-in-law Sonja Goldsmith, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank the St. Clare Living Community for their exceptional care and support.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 24, 2026, at the Quamba Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
A luncheon will immediately follow the service at the church.
A Graveside Service and Interment will be held at 2:15pm on Friday at the Oakwood Cemetery in Mora.
