Johanna “Jody” Susan Christiansen, of Mora, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at the St. Cloud Hospital. She was 57 years old.
Johanna, lovingly known as Jody, was born on June 15, 1969, in St. Paul, Minnesota to parents Stan and Virginia (Bergman) Boraas. She grew up in Eagan and attended Burnsville High School where she loved volleyball, shot put, art, and excelled in academics. After graduating high school in 1987, Jody attended the College of Associated Arts and Design near St. Paul. She graduated early, earning a bachelor’s degree in architectural design.
Jody worked a few different jobs over the years before starting her own business with just $11, Girls Fun Adventures in St. Cloud in 2001. Her bus service captured her free spirit and love of people. She won the Minnesota Small Business of the Year award, twice! She ended her business in 2012 to spend more time with her girls who she cherished more than anything.
Jody was married to the love of her life, Bryon, and together they built a beautiful life that included traveling all around the country to see the sights and visit family and friends. Jody loved to collect rocks and could always find the beauty or hidden image in every rock she brought home.
Jody was passionate about everything she did, regardless of the task. Her creativity could be seen in her craft projects, cake decorating, flower gardening and arranging, and even home renovations. She gave so much of herself by volunteering with the Wisconsin American Legion Post 394 women’s auxiliary, arranging and busing groups of volunteers for hurricane relief and to New York after 9/11, and at Christmas time packing buses full for Toys of Tots.
In 2021 Jody and Bryon moved to Mora where she took on her best role yet as “Grammy” to five grandchildren. She cherished every second she got to spend with them.
Jody will be remembered for her endless creativity, positive attitude, care and compassion which she showed to everyone around her. AND that she did it all with a smile. She will be missed beyond measure.
Jody was preceded in death by her father Stan.
She is survived by her husband Bryon Christiansen; children, Hannah (Marcus) Hoyles, Maggie (Jake) Schwebke, Danielle Christiansen, Brandon Christiansen, and Joe Christiansen; grandchildren, Cameron, Tommy, Holly, Amelia, and JJ; mother Virginia “Ginny” Boraas; sister Mary (Scott) Domagalski; nephews, Cody and Jesse; her beloved dogs, Hank and Ellie; as well as many other relatives and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the Hamilton Funeral Homes- Akkerman Chapel in Mora.
Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service.
