JOHN WEST

John LaVerne West, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at GracePointe Crossing in Cambridge.  He was 76 years old.

John was born on May 3, 1947, in Robbinsdale Minnesota to parents Emmet & Josephine (Grabowska) West.  He spent most of his childhood on the family farm in Isanti which began his passion for farming throughout his life. 

He married Debra Sielski on June 26, 1971, and they enjoyed 46 years of marriage together until Debbie’s passing in 2017.

John enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.  He was an avid baseball fan and watched many twins’ games.  Most of all, John loved spending time with his grandchildren.  He will be dearly missed.

John is preceded in death by his parents, wife Debra, and sister Nancy.

He is survived by his children, Shawn, Adam (Kristin), Jayme (Laura), Mary, and Sarah (Kevin) Michael; grandchildren, Abbigaile, Garrett, John, and Mackenzie; siblings, Laurie (Charlie) Ilstrup, Rory, Bernard "Shordy", and Chuck; as well as many other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at the Hamilton Funeral Homes - Rock Chapel in Braham.  Pastor Jake King will officiate.

Memorial Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service.

A Graveside Service and Inurnment will be held immediately following the service at the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery of Weber.

A luncheon will held held at the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Braham following the Graveside Services.
