Joyce “Jan” Jaunice (Tilley) Kunz passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at her house in Ogilvie. She had family by her side as God called her to be by His side. She was 82 years old.
Jan or “Okie”, a nickname only her husband, Daryl called her, was born in Fletcher, Oklahoma on February 9, 1942, to L. C. and Peggy (Roulo) Tilley. Jan was married to Daryl Kunz for 39 years, who has since passed. She was a security guard and Daryl was a trucker when they met.
Jan was a bartender, laundromat manager, supervisor for Innovated Micrographics, paraprofessional at school in Spring Valley, supervisor for a meat packing plant in Plainview, Texas, and Foster Grandparent at Ogilvie School.
Jan loved riding around to look at the scenery, Sudoku, and spending as much time as possible with her kids and grandkids. She would give you the clothes off her back to help you. She was caring, loving, and forgiving to all who were in her life and will be greatly missed. She has touched so many lives and is loved by so many people.
She is preceded in death by her husband Daryl Carl Kunz, Sr.; mother Peggy Roulo; father L. C. Tilley; step mother Velma Murphy; siblings Sonny, Bobby, Bruce, Johnny, Billie, Jackie, Ronnie, Donnie, Vickie, and Beverly “Cookie”.
Jan is survived by children, Annette (Brent) of Alaska, Jeanette (Joe) of Harris, Jaunice (Jeff) of Ogilvie, Roger (Tami) of Mora, Tim (Lisa) of Rush City, John (Shelly) of Ogilvie, and Daryl (Cassie) of Ogilvie; 22 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; siblings, Roy Tilley of Texas and Barbara Ward from Arkansas; plus many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A Celebration of Jan’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the Open Arms Church of God in Grasston.
All are welcome to Joyce's home following the service for a luncheon and scattering service.
