KAREN REVAK Obituary

Karen Ann Revak, formerly of Grasston and Park Rapids, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 27, 2024, in St. Francis, Minnesota.  She was 81 years old.

Karen was born on July 5, 1943, in a mid-wife’s farmhouse across from the Bethel cemetery near Dorset, Minnesota to parents Francis Willard and Laura Benita (Anderson) Johnson.  She was baptized at the Grace Lutheran Church in Dorset, Minnesota and later confirmed in the Calvary Lutheran Church in Park Rapids.  Karen attended 3 years at Stoney Lake country school and then another 3 years at Dorset Elementary before finishing her education at Park Rapids High school, graduating in 1961.

Karen was united in marriage to Mike Witter on March 28, 1962.  They were blessed with three children, Lori, Lance, and Robert.   They later separated.

Karen began working at Brighter Day/ Industries Inc. in Mora in 1974.  Her last position was as shop foreman where she made many friends until her retirement in 2014.

On September 17, 1983, Karen was united in marriage to Richard Revak at the Hope Lutheran Church in Grasston.  They renewed their vows again at Hope Lutheran in 2000.

Karen had a love of music and played piano for many years at Hope Lutheran.  She enjoyed reading and hiking while spending time at the cabin in Wisconsin.  Most of all, Karen loved her family and being involved in the many activities of her grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Jean (Arlo) Brown, and Dolores (Byron) Roberts.

She is survived by her husband Richard "Dick" Revak; children, Lori Witter MD, Lance (Jodene) Witter, and Robert (Ruth) Witter; Dick's children, Jeffrey Revak, Michael (Roberta) Revak, and Michelle Revak; grandchildren, Samuel Sargent, Eric Sargent, Grant Witter, Makayla Ammerman, Peyton Ammerman, Naomi Ammerman, and Matthew Witter; sister Joan Perry; many other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Hope Lutheran Church in Grasston.  Rick Martens will officiate. 

Memorial Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the church. 

A luncheon will follow the service. 

A private family inurnment will be in the Bethel Cemetery near Dorset, Minnesota.

Memorials are preferred to the Minneapolis Heart Institute or Hope Lutheran Church
