KATHY ANDERSON Obituary

Kathryn "Kathy" Mary Anderson, of Braham, MN, and Apache Junction, AZ; passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023 in Arizona.  She was 77 years old.

Kathy was born on May 9, 1945 in Hinckley, Minnesota to parents George and Kathleen (Brennan) Kaltenhauser. She grew up in Rush City, graduating from Rush City High School in 1963.

On August 21, 1965, Kathy was united in marriage to Jack Anderson at the Catholic Church in Rush City.  Together they started their lives together in Minneapolis where Kathy worked at 3M.  Over the next few years, Kathy and Jack moved several times before making their permanent home in Braham.  Kathy ran “Kathy’s Kids”, a daycare from their home for 32 years.   In 1993, Kathy & Jack purchased a cabin on Lake Eleven near Sandstone, which quickly became the family gathering spot during the summer months every year.

After retiring in 2007, Kathy and Jack traveled with a camper to Arizona to spend the winter months.  They continued to return each winter and eventually purchased a home in Apache Junction, with a view of Superstition Mountain.  Kathy’s favorite past time was adding unique pieces to her ever-growing collection of cookie jars, teapots, and birdhouses.  She never passed by a sale that might have something new to add to her collection.  But her most cherished collection was her family. She and Jack never missed an opportunity to support their kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Kathy was their biggest supporter and the one sitting in the front row cheering them on.  She always ended every conversation by saying, “With all my love” which she meant with all her heart.  She will be dearly missed.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, brother Michael (Marilyn) Kaltenhauser, and sister Jean "Jill" Hegg (Kevin Johnson and Steve Hegg).

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jack; sons, Brian (Lisa) and Chris (Anita); grandchildren, Jessica (Kyle), Zach, Katelyn (Jake), Taylor, Marisa, Brad, Melanie, and Amy; great grandchildren, Kori, Jack, Tom, and Finnley; brothers and sister-in-law, Roger (Carol) Anderson and Patricia (Mike) Just; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
