KAY LeVASSEUR

Kay Diane LeVasseur, of Mora, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at her home. She was 84 years old.

Kay was born on August 3, 1941, in Moorhead, Minnesota to mother Elvira Brown. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Seekon and was blessed with 3 children, Steven, Thomas, and Jody.  The couple later divorced. Andy Nissen and Kay were married in Christ on June 20, 2020 at True Vine Free Lutheran Church, Mora, MN. They enjoyed years of companionship and adventures.

Kay spent most of her working years as a hairstylist and later as a bus driver. She loved getting dressed up and wearing her red boots to go dancing. Cards and games were her other favorite activities.  She had a strong faith and was a member of the True Vine Lutheran church. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her husband Andy Nissen; children, Steve Seekon, Thomas Seekon (Kim Larsson), and Jody (Kevin) Burgstahler; grandchildren, Kelvin (Christina), Alicea (Rodney) White, and Breanna; 4 great grandchildren, Caspian, Aristotle, Aurora, and Cillian; Andy’s children, Christopher Nissen, Carla (Gene) Anderson, Cathryn Nissen, and Kim Nissen; half-brother James Vescio; many other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 16, 2026, at the True Vine Lutheran Church in Mora with Pastor Jim Johnson officiating. 

Memorial Visitation will be held 1 hr prior to the service at the church. 

A Luncheon will immediately follow the service at the church.

Inurnment will close the day at the Fish Lake Cemetery near Mora.
