KENNETH CASSMAN

Kenneth Edward Cassman, of Sandstone, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 in the comfort of family. He was 78 years old.

Kenny was born March 19, 1945 in Braham, MN to Austin and Frances (Rooker) Cassman. He was the youngest of three boys. He graduated from Mora High School in 1963 and went on to have a long career installing telephones.

He met Marie and in 1975 they were united in marriage, combining their two families. The size of their family would vary as they took in foster kids and anyone who was in need of a loving, Christian home. 

Kenny was active in the church, helping wherever he was needed. The family started building a log cabin with dreams of it being used for ministry. He enjoyed spending time with his family, making maple syrup, cooking, having coffee, helping others, and visiting good friends who became like family. Kenny was full of life and always had mischief on his mind. Often, he would encourage his grandkids to join him in his mischief. He loved being surrounded by his family. They were his everything.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Don and Vern. 

Kenny is survived by Marie, his wife of 48 years; children, Sherry Vogel (Chris), Steve (Lisa) Cassman, Debbie Cassman, Rita (Bob) Jensen, and Chad Cassman; his adored grandchildren, Derrick (Jen) Olson, Cordell (Jillian), LaTia, Kendra Vogel, Isaac, Jeremy Cassman, Samantha (Andrew) Johnson, Kate Cassman, Kayla and Jens Jensen; many great grandchildren; sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews, who often enjoyed visiting and sharing stories. 

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Monday, May 22, 2023 from 3:00 - 6:00 pm at the Living Hope Church in Mora.

A Service of Remembrance with Pastor John Gerbec will be held at 4:00 pm followed by a light meal.
