Kevin Eugene Kranz, of Braham, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at his home. He was 60 years old.
Kevin was born on June 4, 1965, at the North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, Minnesota to parents Gerard and Hazel (Adkins) Kranz. Kevin grew up on a dairy farm in Osseo until 1971, when the family bought a dairy farm near Braham. Kevin attended school, graduating from Westview High School in Braham in 1984. He had a good life growing up on the farm, playing with the neighborhood kids and school friends; always finding time for fun between the farm chores. Kevin was the baby of the family, and his big sister Laura would always remind everyone that Kevin was “Mom’s favorite”!
Kevin worked a few odd jobs before deciding to go to school to become a heavy equipment operator. He attended Staples Technical college and upon graduation joined the Local IUOE 49 and became a 49er. Kevin loved his job but as his health deteriorated from rheumatoid arthritis (RA) he was forced to retire early in 2021.
Kevin loved the outdoors, deer hunting, fishing, and playing golf. His best buddies were Bobby Turchi, Tony Turchi, and Gary Nelson who were also around to help each other out on their projects. Kevin talked to Tony almost every night. Kevin, Bobby and Gary enjoyed numerous fun trips to Las Vegas throughout the years.
Kevin really enjoyed it when his nephew Tanner and his wife Jessi came over to visit with their little ones, Evie and Everett. It filled his heart with such joy and love. Kevin’s final act of kindness was being an organ and tissue donor, helping to better the lives of those around him. He will be dearly missed.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents; infant siblings Deborah and David; and brother Greg Kranz.
He is survived by his sister Laura Kranz; nephew Tanner (Jessi) Kranz; great niece and nephew, Evie and Everett Kranz; many other relatives and friends.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the Hamilton Funeral Homes – Rock Chapel in Braham.
A Prayer Service will be held at 6:00 pm.
