Kevin W. Mork, of Mora, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. He was 67 years old.
Kevin Warren Mork was born on December 30, 1954, to Warren and Lois (Hermanson) Mork along with his twin brother Kim. He was a lifetime resident of Mora and graduated from Mora High School in 1973. In his younger years he loved to ride horses and motorcycles. After working for Blue Water yachts and Oslin Lumber he became a fulltime employee of the Mora Public Schools in 1989 where he worked for the next 32 years first as a custodian and then for many years as the groundkeeper. Kevin took great pride in “his” school and would often work extra hours going in early, staying late or even going in on weekends so it would always look its best. Kevin loved hunting, fishing, and gardening. He always grew extra produce because he loved sharing with family and friends.
Kevin was united in marriage to Trudy (Nelson) on Sept. 6, 1986. They were blessed with two children, Joshua and Megan. The last few years have brought medical issues that have made doing the things he loved more challenging, but he kept pushing through the best he could. The greatest joy of his life has been spending time with his grandchildren. Including lots of weekend sleepovers and campfires. His grandson Tanner was truly the light of his light and his best buddy. From a 2-year-old Tanner pushing his fisher price lawn mower behind “Baba” as Tanner called him to taking him out for his first successful deer hunt last fall to starting a new deer stand for this season right before he died.
Kevin had the biggest heart and was always willing to help anyone. He loved spending time with his family. His passing has left a huge hole in our hearts and will be sorely missed not only by us but by everyone he knew and loved him. Your work on this earth is done, go rest high on the mountain and be at peace. We love you.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents and aunt Myrtie (Fordyce) Johnson.
He is survived by his wife Trudy; son Joshua (Madi); daughter Megan (Larry Jr) Juday; stepdaughter Jennifer (Tom) Wetschka; grandchildren, Tanner, Brooklyn, Brinley, Jacob (Leah), Ryan (Katie); siblings, Jay (Marilyn) Mork, Sheldon (Marilyn) Mork, Kim (Doris) Mork, and Marilyn (Adam) Crow; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 21, 2022 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mora with Pastor Dave Everson officiating.
Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Mora.
