Louella “Lu” Gohl of Dalbo, Minnesota passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 20, 2024, following a diagnosis of cancer in early January.
Louella was born November 24,1950 to Leonard and Eleanor (Gruber) Kasper. She grew up on the family farm in Pierz, Minnesota with 15 siblings.
On May 19, 1973, Louella married Bryon Gohl. They lived in Blaine for a number of years, then moved to Ham Lake for 27 years, before they moved to Dalbo.
She worked at McNulty Construction Company in Minneapolis, had her kids, worked at Holiday in Northeast Minneapolis, and finally at MINCO Products in Fridley for several years before she retired.
Louella enjoyed spending time with loved ones, playing cards with family and friends, feeding and watching her birds, tending to her flowers, traveling, and spending time with her grandkids. She had an adventurous spirit and was a generous soul. Her Catholic faith, especially Adoration and her devotion to the Blessed Mother, were very important to her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Louella is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Eileen (Kasper) Zens and Barbara (Kasper) Scholl; brother Francis Kasper; brothers-in-law, Thomas Schlichting and Bernard Otremba; and son-in-law Nathan Gohl.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 50 years, Bryon Gohl; loving children, Jesse Gohl, Tonya (Greg) Brost, Larissa Gohl, and Andrea Gohl (Ben Maki); she is affectionately missed by her grandchildren, Matthew and Daniel Brost, Devah and Noe Gohl; siblings Bernadette (Dennis) Knudsen, Mary Kasper, Linda Schlichting, Al (Geri) Kasper, Sylvia (Elden) LeBlanc, Susan Otremba, David (LuAnn) Kasper, Bobby (Carol) Kasper, Sheila (Cletus) Fischer, James (Susan) Kasper, Joseph (Kerri) Kasper, and Ted Kasper; brothers-in-law, Allen Zens and Bill Scholl; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Braham.
Memorial Visitation will be be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at the Hamilton Funeral Homes- Rock Chapel in Braham with a ROSARY SERVICE at 6:45pm.
Memorial Visitation will be held again 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Inurnment will be in the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Braham.
A luncheon will follow the services.
