Lucille “Lucy” Elaine Anderson, of Stanchfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 22, 2026, surrounded by family at her daughter’s home in Pine City. She was 86 years old.
Lucille was born on November 12, 1939, in Candor Township near Detroit Lakes, Minnesota to parents Paul and Florence (Mann) Dahring. She graduated from Frazee High School in 1957.
Lucy was united in marriage to Earl Anderson on November 19, 1960, in Detroit Lakes, and they lived at their farm in Stanchfield where they raised their four children.
Lucy worked at the Braham Creamery and the Braham Feed Mill for a combined 10 years before taking a job at the Cambridge Hospital. She worked as a coding specialist in the records and financial office for 24 ½ years before retiring in 2004.
Lucy had many hobbies including sewing, quilting, crocheting, and knitting. She loved working in the yard and tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. She was a wonderful cook and baker, especially her famous Apple Bars. In her younger years, she enjoyed square dancing, bowling, and hosting card parties. Most of all she loved her family and teaching her grandchildren her sewing, baking and deer hunting skills. She was a hard worker in all she did and leaves behind a lasting legacy in her beloved family. She will be missed.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents; husband Earl; brothers, Richard, Lawrence, Merton, and Donald; sisters, Pearl and Alvina; sister-in-law Shirley.
She is survived by her children, Cynthia (Will) Hagfors of Pine City; Karen (John) Toussaint of Tallahassee, FL; Paul (Christine) Anderson, of Stanchfield; and Linda (Ronnie) Baker of Stanchfield; 14 Grandchildren and many Great Grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Irene (Dean) Hedberg, Vicki (Marvin) Carlson, Doris (Donald) Mullins, and Elaine Dahring; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 10:00 am - 12:00 noon on Monday, June 22, 2026 at the Hamilton Funeral Homes - Rock Chapel in Braham.
Inurnment will immediately follow at the Mission Covenant Cemetery in Braham.
A continued Celebration of Lucy’s Life with food and fellowship will be held from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm on Monday at the home of Cindy (21081 Co Hwy 61 - Pine City, MN 55063)
