LUCILLE McGUIRE

Lucille "Lucy" Edna Brehmer McGuire passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Eastwood Senior Living in Mora, Minnesota. She was 91 years old.

Lucy was born on March 1, 1934, at Big Stone City, South Dakota to Henry and Bessie (Hall) Schuchard. She was the sixth of thirteen children. Throughout her life she lived in South Dakota, Minnesota, Arizona and Florida. She went to school through 8th grade in Milbank, South Dakota. On November 9, 1952, she married Vernon Brehmer and they lived on a farm by Bellingham, Minnesota. They were blessed with eight children. Lucy was a devoted mother, farm wife, head cook and office assistant. Lucy enjoyed farming, baking, canning, gardening, sewing, crafting, Yahtzee, and playing cards. She was independent and enjoyed taking care of others.

In retirement they moved to Kingman, Arizona. After Vernon passed in July of 1991. Lucy met Jack McGuire at a dance, and they were later married on September 15, 2000. They enjoyed dancing, traveling and panning for gold together. When Jack passed away in February of 2018, Lucy moved back to Mora, Minnesota.

Lucy was preceded in death by her husband Vernon; second husband Jack McGuire; brothers Lawrence, Donald, Laverne, Benjamin and Robert Schuchard; sisters Kathryn Helmstetler and Helen Brehmer.

Lucy is survived by her children, Milton (Peggy) Brehmer, Sharon (Charles) Ronglien, Carlyle (Diana) Brehmer, Kathy (Dennis) Burke, Lori (Jeff) DeYoung, Glenn (Sue) Brehmer, Gordy (Jonna) Brehmer, Lynda (Marty) Egge; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Brehmer, Rose Estenson, Celia Bothun, Carol Oltman, and Darlene (Stanley) Nelson; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life is planned for July 30, 2026, at 11:00 am in Bellingham Community Center, 207 Main Ave, Bellingham, Minnesota.
