LYLE TROUPE

Lyle Gene Troupe, “Pete”, of Mora, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. He was 75 years old.

Lyle was born October 16, 1947, in Mora, in Kanabec County, Minnesota to Edwin Fay and Avarita (Gruwell) Troupe. He grew up on the family farm in Ogilvie with three older siblings. Lyle went to school in Ogilvie and graduated from Ogilvie High School in 1965. Lyle met and then married Betty Oswald on June 2, 1973. They moved to the Mora area where they have lived their entire lives while raising their two daughters. Lyle was employed by various natural gas companies throughout his 40 plus year career in leak detection.

Lyle enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends as well as spending time in his woodworking shop. He has given many of his family and friends various projects and ornaments that he has made that will be cherished for years to come. He enjoyed being surrounded by his family at the couple’s home in Mora.

Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, brother Dale, and sister Marjorie, mother and father-in-law Eleanor and Roy Oswald Sr.

He is survived by his wife Betty; daughters, Stephanie (Matt) Putz and Faye (Jason) Whited;  grandchildren, Julia Putz (Khalil Jordan), Alexander Putz (Fiancé Bailey Randall), Alyssa Putz (Dalton Larsen), Chris Whited (Makayla Driver), Cassandra Whited, Calliegh Whited, and Carson Whited; great granddaughter Hayden Jordan; sister Nancy (David) Lange; sisters-in-law, Lois Troupe (Jim Gobel) and Gladys Keopp; brothers-in law, Andrew (Carolyn) Oswald and Roy Oswald Jr.; and by many nephews, nieces, and other relatives, and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at the Troupe family home in Mora.

Inurnment will be held on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at the Graceland Cemetery in Ogilvie.
