Marian Helen was born the fifth of ten children on April 20, 1933, at the family home in Minneapolis, Minnesota to parents Sigurd and Cora (Snively) Floe. As a young child, the family moved to Lake Minnewawa, near McGregor, Minnesota where Marian grew up and established a lifelong love of the lake and outdoors.
Marian was united in marriage to James Joseph Beattie and they were blessed with three children, Michael, Sherrie, and Marie. They lived and raised their family in Norwalk, California where Marian worked as an aerospace assembly technician at Areojet General and McDonald Douglas. After retiring, Marian moved many times before returning home to Lake Minnewawa.
She was very artistic and created numerous beautiful and intricate paintings. She also enjoyed crocheting and needlepoint. Marian’s favorite pastime was going to dances and she always had her dancing shoes ready. Most of all, Marian treasured the relationships she had with her children, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed.
