MARJORIE BJORKLUND Obituary

Marjorie Joyce Bjorklund, of Mora, formerly of Grasston, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Welia Health in Mora.  She was 100 years old.

Marjorie was born on April 26, 1926, in St. Paul, Minnesota to parents Gyle and Elvera (Brandstrom) Wyman.  She grew up in Grasston, graduating from Grasston High School in 1944.  While still in school, Marjorie met the love of her life Reuben Bjorklund, and the couple married on June 28,1947.  They were blessed with four daughters.  Marjorie and Reuben lived in Grasston until 1999 when they moved into Mora.

Marjorie worked a number of jobs over the years including Control Data in Cambridge, Hardware Hank in Braham, Grandview Nursing Home in Cambridge and was a home health aide for Pine County.

Camping, birdwatching, time spent at the family cabin on Lake Kabekona, and fishing trips to Canada filled the summers.  She had a love for animals including many beloved pet cats and dogs. Marjorie was a wonderful baker, known for her Swedish Rusks and Ginger Snaps.  She tended to a garden and canned her harvests, specifically her Rhubarb and Strawberry Jam and all-natural apple sauce.  She was an accomplished seamstress, making clothing for her daughters and many bridesmaids dresses.  She enjoyed knitting, embroidery, playing Bingo, doing puzzles (no less than 1000 pieces), crosswords and cryptograms, and was the undefeated “Skip Bo Queen” of the family.  Marjorie loved finding treasures at garage sales with her daughters.

Marjorie had a strong faith throughout her life and was a longtime member at the Grasston Baptist church.  She sang in the choir, was an AWANA leader and Sunday school teacher, and served countless meals with the ladies’ aide. She also assisted with childcare for the MOPS program at Emmanuel Baptist church in Mora for many years.   Her greatest loves were for the Lord and her family. Her legacy of faith and love will live on through her family.

Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, husband Reuben, and sister Helen (Curtis) Olander.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen (Greg) Ferrin, Marla Bjorklund, Mary (Tim) Doyle, and Debra Hellwig; grandchildren, Ryan (Stacy) Ferrin, Reid (Abby) Ferrin, Lindsay (Brian) Ashworth, and Taylor (Brandon) Ruud; great grandchildren, Carter, Rhiannon, Cella, Lunden, Malia, Hank, Emerson, and Parker; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
