Marjorie Tyne Burk passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 22, 2025.
Marjorie was born on January 8, 1926 in Ogilvie, MN to her loving parents, Oscar and Olise Nelson. Marjorie was the youngest of nine and she cherished the relationship she had with each of her siblings.
As a young girl, Marjorie attended Hawthorne School until the 8th grade. After her school years, Marjorie worked at different small jobs until she married the love of her life Donald Burk. They had five children and together on her childhood farm they built a home rooted in love, laughter, faith, and gratitude.
Marjorie had a joyful glow about her that could light up any room. She was quick to share her genuine smile with any person she met. Her laughter was contagious and could bring happiness on even the hardest of days. Marjorie had an unforgettable heart. She was patient, consistently kind, loving, honest, optimistic, thoughtful, and fiercely loyal. She had the ability to put others at ease and was always willing to stop whatever she was doing to give a listening ear.
Lewis Lake Covenant Church was Marjorie’s church her entire life. She had a passion for serving God and others. Marjorie always answered the call to support others and she did so with a willing heart.
Marjorie was passionate about music. When Marjorie was a child, she sang with her siblings. In her adult life, she would sing in church and to her grandchildren. Marjorie always had music playing and if music was not on, she would be singing acapella. Her joy and lightheartedness was infectious and you couldn’t help but sing with her when she started.
Marjorie had many hobbies and talents. Most notably she was known for her green thumb. She loved spending her time tending flowers and sharing them with others. Marjorie spent her time taking pictures, playing games, baking, crafting, quilting, collecting recipes, and traveling. Some of her happiest years were the winters in Texas with Donald, where they made friends with people from all over the country.
Marjorie loved her calling to be a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her family meant the world to her and she was proud of every one of them. Her presence in their lives was a gift that can never be replaced.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald Burk, son Steven J. Burk, son John E. Burk, daughter-in-law Katy Burk, great grandson Steven J. Burk, granddaughter Brianne L. Hass, and granddaughter Jennifer (John) McCallum.
Marjorie is survived by daughter-in-law Kathy Burk, son Gary (Lory) Burk, daughter Linda (Richard) Hass, son Tim (Lori) Burk; grandchildren, Joe (Tonya) Burk, Jeremy Burk, Ben (Angie) Burk, Gina Burk, Sam Burk, Megan (Dan) Stobb, Whitney (Ben) Dunn, Levi (Eric) Conti, Jericho (Jesse) Burk, and Emily (Kirk) Mitchell; along with 22 great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, nieces, nephews, and relatives and friends.
