Marjorie Ann (Dahlquist) Parson passed away on November 19, 2023 at St. Clare Living Community of Mora with Kathy & Steve by her side.
Marjorie was born March 2, 1933. She was the eldest of five children born to Oscar & Gertrude (Carlson) Dahlquist. Marjorie attended Braham School and graduated in 1951. While attending school she began working at the Braham Bank. While working at the bank Marjorie married Merwyn Parson in 1956. They made their home on a farm NE of Braham. Marjorie continued working up until 1966 when their 1st daughter Dianne was born. Then in 1970 their 2nd daughter Kathleen was born.
In 1973 Marjorie and the girls made their home in Braham after the unexpected loss of Merwyn in October 1972. Marjorie worked a short time at the John Dablow Law Office then went on to work at the Braham School District #314. She worked there until 1994 when she took leave to care for her sister Jane until Jane’s passing in 1995.
During her retirement Marjorie made weekly trips to Cambridge & Mora shopping the thrift stores always looking for items for the quilting group to use. She enjoyed time with the Church Quilting group and doing things with her family and their animals.
June of 2007 Marjorie moved in with Dianne & Steve. Marjorie & Steve cared for Dianne during her battle with brain cancer until her passing in December of 2007. Marjorie continued living in Braham until December 2020 when she moved to assisted care due to a decline in her health. After a fall on November 11, 2023 followed by surgery then a complication of a stroke Marjorie passed peacefully on November 19, 2023.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Gertrude (Carlson) Dahlquist; husband Merwyn; daughter Dianne (Parson) Hoberg; brother Richard (Jeanne) Dahlquist; and sister Jane Dahlquist.
She is survived by her daughter Kathleen Eklund; son-in-law Steven Hoberg (Teresa Rosen); brother David (Ellie) Dahlquist; sister Linda Dahlquist; several nieces and nephews, cousins, and lots of friends..
A celebration of Marjorie's Life will be held from 1:00-3:00 pm on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the home of Steve Hoberg (2118 Naples St (Co Road 11 N) - Mora, MN 55051)
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2:00 pm led by Pastor Julie Beck.
A Private Inurnment will be in the Rice Lake Cemetery in Braham.
