This is a tribute in loving memory of a mom, grandma, great grandma and great-great grandma.
Muriel Hasser, passed away at Abbott Northwestern Hospital on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at the age of 82 years, surrounded by her children. She will be lovingly missed.
Muriel Hasser of Stanchfield, Minnesota, (most recently resided at Northern Pines Assisted Living, Pine City, MN) was born December 5, 1943, to Verle and Florence (Segelstrom) Sybrant in Rush City, MN. She grew up on their family farm in Braham as the the youngest of 4 children. She enjoyed the outdoors, and could be found helping her dad, Verle, with the farm chores. As a young girl, she attended Hiawatha School in Maple Ridge township and graduated from Braham High School in 1961, married her sweetheart, Bobby Hasser and enjoyed 62 years of marriage. To this union, they had three children: Cathy, Bonni and Danny.
They lived in Minneapolis for a short time before they moved to their home place in Stanchfield. She stayed home to raise her children for a time, but then later decided to work and she was employed at Control Data and Sundberg’s Nursing Home, both in Cambridge, before being approached by Ennis Biggins, owner of the Brass Rail in Grandy, to see if she would be interested in working with him. She began her long-term employment as a waitress and worked at the Brass Rail part-time until she made her decision to retire after 38 ½ years.
Muriel enjoyed many interests in life, like fishing (She belonged to Women Anglers of Minnesota), baking, reading, gardening, golfing, volunteering at Tusen Tack in Braham, hunting, and spending time with family and friends.
She is welcomed in death by her parents Verle and Florence Sybrant, her husband Bob, her brothers: Duane “Sonny”, Eugene, Gordon (Darlene) and other relatives.
She will lovingly be remembered and missed by her children, Cathy (Dave) Fleming, Bonni (Kenny) Becklin, Danny (Karen); grandchildren, Sara (Jayson), Alyssa (Brent), Eric (Julia), Andy, Patrick (Chelsea); great-grandchildren, Emily, Caleb, Allie, Jacob, Calla, Bergen; great-great grandchild Rhyen; sisters and brothers-in-law, Imogene Sybrant, Betty Stradtman, Henry “Hank” (Lenore) Hasser, Bea (Richard) Prellwitz, Francis (Sandra) Hasser, Laura (Everett) Balko, Lila Hasser, and Lorraine Rote; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A GATHERING OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS will be held from 2:00 - 5:00 PM on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at the Hamilton Funeral Homes - Rock Chapel in Braham.
