Murray Melvin Hermanson, of Braham, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024 at his home. He was 76 years old.
Murray was born on May 12, 1948 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to parents Melvin and Muriel (Hamilton) Hermanson. He grew up in Fridley where he attended school.
Murray enlisted in the US Marines on February 18, 1966. He served 2 tours in Vietnam as a weapons specialist. He was wounded before his discharge in November of 1969, receiving a Purple Heart medal for his bravery in service.
On November 15, 1980, He was united in marriage to Cynthia Peterson in Minneapolis.
He loved to build things throughout his life and spent his career in building trades construction.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Murray was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife Cindy; children, William (Gina) Miller, Dane (Amber) Hermanson, and Heather Bittar; grandchildren, Faith, Megan, Brandon, Alexandra, and Haylie; sisters, Melva (John) Robertson and Marilyn (David) Buck; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Private Family Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery - Assembly Area #2.
