NATALIE PETERSON

Natalie “Nat” Agnes Peterson, of Mora, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Eastwood Senior Living in Mora.  She was 92 years old.

Natalie was born on February 7, 1933, in Washington County, Wisconsin to parents Henry A. and Orlinda (Geib) Schacht. 

During her life Nat was always active but liked to work behind the scenes.  She spent time working as a Red Cross worker on an Airforce base in Texas, MDI sheltered workshop in St. Paul for individuals with disabilities, owned and operated the Lowry Dairy Queen with Bill for 15 years, was kitchen chairman and newsletter editor for both the Knife Lake Sportsman Club and the Sons of Norway-Tusenvann 1-659 Lodge.  Nat was also a member of the Red Hats and Mora Dala Dolls.  Anything that needed to be done, Nat was always there to help.

She will be dearly missed by all. Rest in Peace, Natalie.

She was greeted in heaven by her parents; son Daniel Gruendeman; stepson Larry Peterson; and brothers, Henry and Gerald Schacht.

Survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Walter “Bill” Peterson; children, Peggy Gruendeman, Gayle Pietrzak (Chris Clark), Peter (GaleAnn) Gruendeman, and Bill (Joan) Gruendeman; 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; former husband Earl Gruendeman; sister Vernell Krueger; stepsons, W. Wesley Peterson and John (Mary) Peterson; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the Hamilton Funeral Homes - Akkerman Chapel in Mora.

A Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home on Tuesday.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at the Roselawn Chapel at Roselawn Cemetery in Roseville with a visitation held 1 hour prior.  

Interment will follow in the Roselawn Cemetery in Roseville.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials are preferred to Special Olympics or to the family.
