Norman Dean Jensen, of Mora, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Welia Health in Mora. He was 92 years old.
Norman was born on August 29, 1933, in Exira, Iowa to Jens and Elna (Hansen) Jensen, the sixth of seven children. He graduated from Mora High School in 1951. Norm was united in marriage to Doris Eklund on September 26, 1953. He served in the United States Army from 1955-1957. Upon his discharge Norm and Doris returned to Mora where they raised their three children.
Norm worked as a Power Plant operator in both Mora and Cambridge, for over 25 years. He was then a self-employed TV repairman until his retirement. He had a love for tinkering and enjoyed hours in his shop doing woodworking projects with his scroll saw. In recent years, he enjoyed watching any kind of repair video on YouTube he could find.
Norm loved the outdoors, especially fishing, camping and gardening. He and Doris were able to travel in their camper throughout the United States and took memorable trips to Alaska, Switzerland, and Scandinavia numerous times. He enjoyed square dancing in his younger years, country music, and was currently a part of several card groups, appreciating a spirited game of 500. He and Doris attended Emmanuel Baptist Church for many years and more recently became a part of the Mora United Methodist church. Norm will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, son Richard “Dick” Jensen; son-in-law Craig Israel; siblings, Mabel (Neal) Eddy, Alvin (Dorothy) Jensen, Paul (LaVonne) Jensen, Thelma (Donald) Johnson, Floyd Jensen; brother-in-law Archie Zellman; sister-in-law Gladys Ohnstein.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Doris; children, Diane Israel and Douglas (Dianne) Jensen; grandchildren, Freddy (Mila) Anderson, Emily (Shay) Poe, Carrie (Tanner) Johanns, and Tim (Marlenia Sargario Levia) Israel; several beloved great grandchildren; sister Sonja Zellman; sister-in-law, Marilyn Jensen; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
