Opal Marie Hoving, of Grasston and Braham, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 with family by her side at home. She was 88 years old.
Opal Marie, daughter of Temple and Muriel (Hibbler) Logan, was born on December 15, 1935, in Del Norte, Colorado. Her parents, along with 5 sisters and 1 brother moved to various parts of Colorado and to California where Opal met and married the love of her life, Rodney Richard, on July 14, 1954. Together, they built a family with 4 children, 8 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren.
Opal was known for her great cooking, operating multiple restaurants during her lifetime, and her love for family, friends and animals.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Rodney, son Rick, granddaughter Angela, 5 sisters and their husbands, sister-in-law Carol Logan, 2 nephews and 2 nieces.
She is survived by her brother Temple Logan, daughter Patricia (Kevin Brown) Leaf, son Robert (Tammy) Hoving, daughter Paula Nelson, daughter-in-law Teri Hoving, 8 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
A Private Family Gathering will be held with burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
